Rivkin Radler Welcomes 6 Attorneys

Evan H. Krinick, Managing Partner of Rivkin Radler, is pleased to announce that Gidon Shamir and Craig Svoboda have joined the firm as counsel, and Stephanie Garcia Avelar, Emily Carrigan, Benjamin Guter, and Oren Silverman have joined the firm as associates.

Gidon Shamir, of Bronx, NY, has joined the Construction Practice Group in the firm’s New York City office, where he assists with transactional leasing matters. His practice involves representing landlords and tenants in the leasing of retail, office and industrial spaces throughout the U.S. He earned his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

Craig Svoboda has joined the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the firm’s Hackensack office, where he brings over 30 years’ experience handling and managing patent prosecution, portfolio strategy, freedom to operate, IP diligence and negotiating IP related transactions in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Prior to joining Rivkin Radler, Craig served as global head of intellectual property at a biosimilar company. He earned his J.D. from University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Stephanie Garcia Avelar, of Brooklyn, NY, has joined the Insurance Fraud & Recovery Practice Group in the firm’s Uniondale office. Prior to joining Rivkin Radler, Stephanie served as law clerk to Hon. Lawrence J. Vilardo and Hon. John L. Sinatra, Jr. with the Western District of New York. She earned her J.D. from Notre Dame Law School.

Emily Carrigan, of Merrick, NY, has joined the Insurance Fraud & Recovery Practice Group in the firm’s Uniondale office. Her practice focuses on representing insurers in no-fault insurance fraud schemes and racketeering matters. Prior to joining Rivkin Radler, Emily advocated on behalf of injured plaintiffs in accident claims involving automobiles, premises liability, and labor law. She earned her J.D. from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University.

Benjamin Guter, of West Islip, NY, has joined the General Liability Practice Group in the firm’s Uniondale office. Prior to joining Rivkin Radler, Benjamin defended cases involving automobile liability, construction defect and construction site accidents, dealership liability, employment and labor law, premises liability, and products liability. He earned his J.D. from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University.

Oren Silverman, of Brooklyn, NY, has joined the Insurance Coverage Practice Group in the firm’s New York City office. Prior to joining Rivkin Radler, he served for nearly two years as a law clerk to Magistrate Judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. He earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
