Stephanie Garcia Avelar is an associate in Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Fraud and Recovery Practice Group.
Prior to joining the firm, Stephanie served as a law clerk to Hon. Lawrence J. Vilardo and Hon. John L. Sinatra, Jr. with the Western District of New York. During this time, Stephanie gained significant experience working on a range of complex issues. Her role involved drafting judicial opinions, reviewing case records, and analyzing legal arguments. She also supervised law student interns in analyzing case law and guided them in drafting opinions.
During law school, Stephanie gained experience in the private and public sector working in various areas of law including corporate, labor & employment, data privacy, intellectual property, and contracts. She also served as president of the Intellectual Property Law Society, executive editor of the Journal on Emerging Technologies, and as an intern with the Intellectual Property & Entrepreneurship Clinic.
In her free time, Stephanie enjoys kayaking, photography, and traveling.
