The article discusses ways that a health system can prevent errors in their annual wellness visit (AWV) claims, and prevent returning millions of dollars to Medicare as a result, such as having a set protocol in place and outsourcing billing services.
“Routine internal audits should be conducted to hone in on documentation or billing errors that can range from isolated instances to more systemic ones that could ultimately lead to a voluntary self-disclosure,” Mary said .
