Rutkin and Tugander co-author handbook

September 30, 2014 | Insurance Coverage

Alan Rutkin and Robert Tugander have completed the second edition of The Reference Handbook on the Commercial General Liability Policy.  CGL policies are the most common form of liability insurance and arguably the most litigated insurance product in the marketplace.  The 516 page handbook, published by ABA Book Publishing, is a survey of current developments and issues that arise from liability policies.  The book discusses, in a fair and balanced way, the most salient issues that practitioners will face.

The handbook provides concise information on how courts have interpreted the insuring agreements, terms, conditions, and exclusions in a typical CGL policy.  It also includes chapters on the Bermuda form and London Market, and further addresses topics such as the duty to defend, trigger, allocation, bad faith, and alternative dispute resolution.

The book is a compilation of works by members of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee of the Tort, Trial & Insurance Practice Section.

The book is on sale now and can be purchased from the ABA website.  The first edition, published four years ago, was an ABA best seller.  Discounts are available to Rivkin attorneys.  Contact Alan or Robert if interested in purchasing a copy.
