Expanded Group Offers Unparalleled Depth in NY and NJ

Felicia Pasculli and Lauren Mechaly have joined Rivkin Radler, strengthening the firm’s elder law services in New York and New Jersey and making it one of region’s most prominent elder law firms.

These additions bring the number of Certified Elder Law Attorneys (CELAs) at the firm to three. The National Elder Law Foundation grants CELA certification to lawyers whose substantial experience, enhanced knowledge, skills, and proficiency in the practice of elder law have been examined and confirmed them to be elder law attorneys worthy of the CELA designation. Only approximately 500 attorneys nationwide have received the designation.

The practice’s attorneys implement a holistic and flexible approach to the law, considering their clients’ needs and the impact of those needs on clients’ families. Their goal is to preserve clients’ independence, dignity and financial security.

Felicia Pasculli, who works in the firm’s Uniondale office, has spent her legal career focusing on elder law, special needs law and trusts and estates. A CELA designee, Pasculli was selected as the Lawyer of the Year for Elder Law by Best Lawyers in America® and since 2011 has been named a New York Metro-area Super Lawyer. Pasculli is a founder of the Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation and the Family Council at the Northport VA Medical Center. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Elder Law & Special Needs section of the New York State Bar Association and the NAELA. She has lectured extensively for NAELA, NYSBA, and the New York State Women’s Bar Association.

Lauren Mechaly, based in the firm’s Hackensack, NJ, office, has spent her 15-year career focusing on elder law, special needs planning, estate planning and estate administration. Another CELA designee, she assists seniors with a variety of legal issues, including estate planning and long-term care planning. She also assists individuals with special needs and their families. Mechaly has authored and co-authored articles relating to various matters in her practice areas and is a frequent presenter on the topics of Elder Law and Special Needs Planning.

Pasculli and Mechaly join a robust team of elder lawyers working in the Uniondale, NY, office.

Wendy Hoey Sheinberg concentrates in the areas of guardianship, elder law, special needs planning, trusts and estate planning and estate administration. A CELA designee, Sheinberg was selected as a Fellow of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the highest honor bestowed by the academy.

James Cronin, in practice for over 30 years, focuses on estate and asset protection planning, elder law and Medicaid planning, probate and estate and trust administration, and guardianships. He is very active in community organizations that offer services and assistance to children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities.
