In practice for over 30 years, James Cronin’s areas focus include estate and asset protection planning, elder law and Medicaid planning, probate and estate and trust administration, guardianships, and real estate.

Previously, Jim was a partner in a Seaford, NY, law firm, where he created and managed the Trusts & Estates, Guardianship, Elder Law and Real Estate divisions. He also maintained his own practice with three Long Island offices.

A native of the Bronx and Queens, Jim attended law school while working full time as a New York City police officer. He served for nearly six years with the New York City Police Department, where he was first assigned to patrol in Manhattan and then reassigned to the Police Commissioner’s Office of Management and Planning (OMAP).  OMAP is the management and corporate division of the New York City Police Department for its thirty-five thousand uniform and civilian employees.

Very active in the community, Jim is Past-President and current Board Member for the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick on Long Island. He also served on the board of the Eden II & Genesis Foundation in East Meadow and the Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI) in Smithtown, both of which provide assistance and services to children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. He organized and hosted several “Rockin’ for Autism” events on Long Island. He served on the board of the Irish Monument Committee and is a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Knights of Columbus. Jim organizes an annual fundraiser for Camp NorthStar, a 501© organization that provides a weeklong camping experience for children and adults with developmental disabilities on Shelter Island each year.

Jim lives in Massapequa Park, NY, with his wife, KellyAnne, and their two surviving children Sean and Sheila.
