Vlahos Interviewed by Part B News on Tax Deductions for Medical Practice Owners

Lou Vlahos was quoted in the Part B News article, “The taxman cometh: File wisely, secure the most from practice deductions.”

Lou points out deductions that doctors often miss, such as the home office deduction, but also cautions against claiming some that will be obvious red flags for the IRS.

“You hear from so many accountants to advise doctors, ‘Why don’t you hire your spouse or your kids?'” Lou says. But he cautions, “these are in fact business functions, and they should not be paid more than what is reasonable for that function.”
