USCIS Reaches H-1B Visa Cap for 2019

April 6, 2018 | Employment & Labor

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that it has reached the 65,000 H-1B visa cap mandated by Congress for fiscal year 2019. USCIS has noted that it has also received a sufficient number of H-1B petitions to meet the 20,000 visa U.S. advanced-degree exemption, known as the master’s cap.

As in prior years when USCIS received visa petitions in excess of the cap, USCIS will conduct a lottery to select which petitions will be adjudicated on the merits.
