Rivkin Radler Welcomes New Attorney
July 17, 2020Evan H. Krinick, Managing Partner of Rivkin Radler LLP, has announced that Joanna B. Sobel has joined the firm as an Associate.
Joanna B. Sobel has joined the firm’s Insurance Fraud practice group. Joanna helps insurers prosecute civil lawsuits under the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, including affirmative actions to recover insurer claim payments to physicians, medical clinics, attorneys, public adjusters and others involved in complex, large-scale insurance fraud schemes.
Prior to joining Rivkin Radler, Joanna served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Special Victims Bureau of the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, where she investigated and prosecuted a wide variety of cases, including rape, child sexual and physical abuse, domestic violence, burglary, assault and elder abuse. She handled all aspects of criminal prosecution, including coordinating investigations with law enforcement, interviewing victims and witnesses, and conducting grand jury presentations and evidentiary hearings. She also completed numerous jury and bench trials to verdict.
