As an Associate in the Insurance Fraud Practice Group, Joanna helps insurers prosecute civil lawsuits under the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, including affirmative actions to recover insurer claim payments to physicians, medical clinics, attorneys, public adjusters and others involved in complex, large-scale insurance fraud schemes.

Prior to joining Rivkin Radler, Joanna served as an Assistant District Attorney for five years in the Special Victims Bureau of the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, where she investigated and prosecuted a wide variety of cases, including rape, child sexual and physical abuse, domestic violence, burglary, assault and elder abuse. She handled all aspects of criminal prosecution, including coordinating investigations with law enforcement, interviewing victims and witnesses, and conducting grand jury presentations and evidentiary hearings. She also completed numerous jury and bench trials to verdict.

Joanna has been recognized in Ones to Watch by Best Lawyers in America® for 2023 and 2024. Ones to Watch is a recognition given to attorneys who are earlier in their careers for outstanding professional excellence in private practice.

Joanna graduated from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. While there she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and competed in several moot court competitions.
