Richman, Becker and Romeo Prevail in Trip-and-Fall Action

December 23, 2019 | General Liability

David Richman, Noah Becker and Jason Romeo successfully obtained summary judgment on behalf of Columbia University in connection with a claim that the plaintiff tripped and fell over an uneven sidewalk adjacent to the School of International Affairs.

The decision, rendered by Kathryn Freed in Supreme Court, New York County, found that the plaintiff had failed to sufficiently rebut the University’s argument that the an actionable sidewalk defect existed at the location plaintiff had identified on photographs at deposition.
