Michael Cannata named “Young Lawyer of the Month” by the Nassau Lawyer

Michael Cannata, an Associate in the firm’s Insurance Coverage & Litigation and Intellectual Property Practice Groups, has been named “Young Lawyer of the Month” for the month of May, by the Nassau Lawyer.

Mr. Cannata joined the firm in September 2007.  He has extensive experience litigating complex commercial, intellectual property and insurance coverage matters at both the trial and appellate levels in courts throughout the United States. Mr. Cannata represents a broad spectrum of clientele including, production companies, jewelers, medical practices, construction contractors, municipalities and insurers. Mr. Cannata has achieved great success in securing early resolution to his client’s legal needs, including the summary dismissal of a multi-million dollar lost profits claim asserted against a municipal client in the Eastern District of New York.

Mr. Cannata is also a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and is active in his capacity as a member of the Young Lawyers Committee.  In addition, Mr. Cannata is a participant in the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network, a volunteer organization responsible for meeting with prospective undergraduate students. 

Notably, Mr. Cannata enjoys raising funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation as a participant in the annual Polar Bear Swim which takes place every Super Bowl Sunday in Long Beach, New York.
