Mascia Obtains TN Visa for Canadian Computer Systems Analyst

March 29, 2018 | Employment & Labor | Corporate

Henry Mascia obtained a TN visa for a computer systems analyst from Canada.  The foreign national had received and renewed a TN visa in the computer systems analyst category for many years.  But on his last attempt to renew, the officer at the port of entry denied his application.  The firm ascertained the basis for the denial and drafted new supporting documents to address the officer’s concerns by detailing the foreign national’s job duties with percentages of time spent on each task during the prior three years in TN visa status.

TN visas are for highly skilled Mexican and Canadian professionals.  TN visas, which are issued pursuant to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), are only available to individuals in certain professions, but they offer employers tremendous flexibility due to the expedited application process at the border and the potential for indefinite renewals.
