Cheryl Korman, Jeremy Honig and Erez Glambosky successfully obtained an emergency injunction from the Appellate Division, First Department preventing the opening of a homeless shelter in a dangerously, unsafe building.

Honig was quoted in the New York Post article, “Judge temporarily blocks ‘Billionaire’s Row’ homeless shelter.” The article discusses New York Mayor Bill de Blasio’s plan to convert the former Park Savoy Hotel into a shelter for 150 men which has been temporarily blocked by an appeals judge.

Noting the deadly blaze that killed a mom and her five children in Harlem early Wednesday, May 8, Honig said, “The city has an opportunity to prevent another similar tragedy before it happens, yet it remains hellbent on opening this shelter in this firetrap of a building in order to satisfy Mayor de Blasio’s political agenda.”
