4 Members of Rivkin Radler Receive Leadership in Law Awards

Rivkin Radler is proud to announce that four members of the firm received Leadership in Law awards from Long Island Business News. These special individuals have had a positive impact on Long Island through demonstration of their dedication, hard work, skill, tenacity, and compassion both in the legal profession and the community.

The Rivkin Radler honorees and their respective categories are as follows:

Scott Eisenmesser, of Merrick, NY, is a Partner in the firm’s Personal, Family & Business Planning and Tax practice groups. Eisenmesser represents clients in complex estate planning, trust and estate administration, business valuations, and complex corporate and real estate tax matters. Eisenmesser’s clients include some of the largest family-owned real estate companies in the metropolitan area, which he assists as general counsel and with their estate and tax planning needs. He represents parties in contested estate matters, such as will contests and accountings, which often involve claims of fraud, forgery, and undue influence. Eisenmesser also has handled hundreds of cases before the Internal Revenue Service, the New York State Department of Taxation, the U.S. Tax Court, and the New York State Tax Tribunal involving all sorts of tax matters, including estate and gift, personal income, corporate franchise, general corporation, UBT, sales, and real property transfer taxes. Eisenmesser is a board member and the treasurer of Ascent, a school for individuals with autism.

Sean Simensky, of Locust Valley, NY, is an Associate in the firm’s Banking, Business Dissolution, Corporate and Health Services practice groups. Simensky concentrates his practice on general corporate representation of companies, with a specific emphasis on dental, veterinary, and other healthcare practices and health services clients. He represents dentists and other healthcare providers in the start-up, acquisition or sale of their practice, corporate structuring, establishment of partnerships, associate contracts, employee matters, and general contract review. Simensky also assists clients with general business matters, including selection and formation of business and practice entities, shareholder and operating agreements, employment and consulting agreements, and corporate severances. In addition, he supports clients in various aspects of mergers, acquisitions and dissolutions, including due diligence, negotiation, drafting and the closing of transactions. Simensky is a member of the Board of Directors of the Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club—a local affiliate of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a national organization whose mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens, where he currently serves as Assistant Treasurer.

Neil Friedman, of Plainview, NY, is the firm’s Director of Finance. He has served in the role since October 2019.  With a combined staff of over 15 employees, Friedman manages the firm’s accounting and billing functions—while providing comprehensive fiscal reporting that is timely and responsive to firm management. In addition to managing the firm’s daily accounting operation, he also administers the firm’s benefits programs, including the 401K/profit sharing and enhanced pension plan along with all associated financial and related tax reporting.

James Gemino, of Island Park, is the firm’s Office Facilities Manager. He has served in the role since 2018, where he has worked tirelessly to refresh, upgrade and build out all six of the firm’s offices. Gemino has spent his 35-year career at large law firms, where he gained experience in office facilities and services management including mail/copy services, maintenance, space planning, design, and construction as well as event planning, budgeting, and coordination. In addition to managing the office services and facilities management for the Uniondale office, Gemino manages the firm’s other New York offices in Albany, New York City and Poughkeepsie; its Hackensack, NJ, office; and most recently, the Jacksonville, FL, office.
