Prior to joining the firm, Rawson served as an assistant corporation counsel at the New York City Law Department’s Tort Division, where she independently managed a high-volume caseload and handled all stages of pre-trial litigation. During this time, Rawson gained significant courtroom and litigation experience as she regularly handled court conferences, oral arguments, and bench trials. Rawson also conducted and defended depositions, drafted and argued summary judgment motions, successfully negotiated settlements, and participated in a rigorous national trial advocacy program.
In law school, Rawson gained legal experience in the public and private sectors while working in various areas of law including commercial litigation, bankruptcy, labor and employment, health law, tax law, and municipal law. She also served as a legal intern at Hofstra Law’s Deportation Defense Clinic, where she represented a pro bono client from El Salvador in Immigration Court, successfully securing a grant of asylum.
After her first year of law school, Rawson was a summer associate at Rivkin Radler, where she worked across a variety of the firm’s practice areas. She later returned as a law clerk in the firm’s Trusts & Estates Practice Group.
In her free time, Rawson enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, and Pilates.
