Mardeline enjoys the problem-solving aspect of her work in commercial litigation. Her perspective is shaped by her experience as a first-generation American helping her family navigate challenging situations.
Mardeline Cruz is an associate in Rivkin Radler’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group.
Mardeline has experience working on complex commercial matters, including those arising out of the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC. She has handled cross-border discovery involving foreign jurisdictions, navigated international data privacy and bank-secrecy laws, and contributed to motion strategy and discovery-related applications.
She also conducted detailed factual investigations, analyzed financial records, and managed large-scale e-discovery workflows, including custodial scoping, privilege analyses, and production strategies.
Earlier in her career, Mardeline practiced as a personal injury attorney, where she handled all aspects of litigation from case inception through resolution. Her experience included drafting pleadings and motions, conducting and defending depositions, managing discovery, and working closely with clients and medical evidence to develop case strategy.
Mardeline earned her J.D.from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where she served as a resource editor for the Family Court Review. She received her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Queens College, where she majored in Political Science and Anthropology.
In her free time, Mardeline enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
