Frank M. Misiti
PartnerFrank Misiti is an experienced litigator representing clients in intellectual property, complex insurance coverage, commercial, and other business disputes in state and federal courts throughout the country.
Frank litigates and provides counsel to a wide variety of clients, on issues relating to patents, trademarks, trade dress and copyright. In fact, in early 2017, Frank secured the resolution of a complex trade dress and trademark infringement claim filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York relating to designs for sport and fitness headbands.
Apart from his active intellectual property practice, Frank also advises insurers throughout the country on insurance coverage issues arising out of bodily injury, advertising injury, personal injury, products liability, medical malpractice claims and environmental and toxic torts. He gained extensive experience in insurance coverage issues through the representation of clients in multiple litigations arising out of claims connected to the events of September 11, 2001.
In 2017, Frank was named Co-Chair of the Nassau County Bar Association Insurance Law Committee.
Frank is also an adjunct professor at Hofstra Law School where he teaches a course in Foundational Lawyering Skills. While attending Hofstra in Law School, Frank served as a notes and comments editor on the Hofstra Law Review. Frank was inducted into Long Island Business News’ 40 Under 40 Class of 2019.
Frank taught history classes as a student teacher at DeWitt Clinton High School in The Bronx and served as a graduate assistant high school varsity basketball coach. Frank volunteers his time coaching various youth sports, including basketball and soccer, as well as volunteering his time as the registrar for his local soccer club. Frank also represents tenants in landlord/tenant court as part of Rivkin Radler’s pro bono team.
In 2019 and 2020, the well-respected Legal 500 recommended Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Coverage practice in the insurance: advice to insurers category. The Insurance Coverage Practice Group since 2016 has been included in the Chambers USA directory in the Insurance: Dispute Resolution: Insurer category.
