Frank Misiti is an experienced litigator representing clients in complex insurance coverage, intellectual property, commercial, and other business disputes in state and federal courts throughout the nation.

Frank advises insurers throughout the country on coverage issues arising out of bodily injury, personal and advertising injury, products liability, medical malpractice claims, and environmental and toxic torts.  He gained extensive experience in insurance coverage issues through the decades-long representation of clients in multiple litigations arising out of claims connected to the events of September 11, 2001.  Frank has served as Co-Chair of the Nassau County Bar Association Insurance Law Committee.  Frank is also a co-author of the New York State Bar Association, Insurance Law Practice treatise chapter entitled “Excess and Extended Coverages and Excess Coverage Issues” and is presently co-authoring a chapter styled “Insured Injuries Under Coverage B: Personal And Advertising Injury” in the forthcoming edition of the American Bar Association’s Reference Handbook on the CGL Policy.

Apart from his active insurance practice, Frank also litigates and provides counsel to a wide variety of clients on issues relating to patents, trademarks, trade dress, and copyright.  Notably, Frank secured the resolution of a complex trade dress and trademark infringement claim filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York relating to designs for sport and fitness headbands.

Frank has also served as an adjunct professor at Hofstra Law School where he teaches Foundational Lawyering Skills.  While attending Hofstra Law School, Frank served as Notes and Comments Editor on the Hofstra Law Review.

Frank taught history classes as a student teacher at DeWitt Clinton High School in The Bronx and served as a graduate assistant high school varsity basketball coach.  Frank volunteers his time coaching various youth sports, including basketball and soccer, as well as volunteering his time as the Vice President for his local championship soccer club.

Since 2019, The Legal 500 has recommended Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Coverage practice in the insurance: advice to insurers category. The Insurance Coverage Practice Group since 2016 has been included in the Chambers USA directory in the Insurance: Dispute Resolution: Insurer category.
