Eric S. Strober
PartnerEric S. Strober represents clients in complex toxic tort, medical malpractice, construction, product liability, general and auto liability cases in both state and federal courts, trying many cases to verdict.
A partner in Rivkin Radler’s Complex Torts & Product Liability, General Liability and Medical Malpractice Defense Practice Groups, Eric obtained one of the New York Law Journal‘s “Top Ten Defense Verdicts of 2004.” His toxic tort cases have involved mass tort suits arising from asbestos, pharmaceutical products, and latex gloves. Other cases have involved claimed exposure to mold, lead paint, and chemicals. In addition to many consumer product liability cases, clients have called on Eric to coordinate the defense of lead paint claims on a national level. Eric is also routinely retained to defend auto liability cases involving especially complex issues or potential high exposure.
In addition, for more than 20 years, Eric has handled many medical, podiatric and dental malpractice cases, representing physicians and hospitals in claims involving anesthesia, cardiology, emergency room medicine, infectious diseases, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, pediatrics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, podiatry, urology, radiology, among other matters. He has also represented home health aid companies in numerous, varied liability cases.
He also represents landowners, management companies, and various contractors in defending against general liability, mold exposure, lead paint exposure and construction accident cases, including explosions, fires, and scalding.
He has been retained as monitoring or defense counsel in catastrophic injury cases throughout New York State. He has represented hospitals, nursing homes, home healthcare companies, major universities, and national retailers in cases involving allegations of negligence, landowner liability, defective products, dangerous conditions, and civil rights violations. Eric also has represented municipalities in various lawsuits ranging from allegations of catastrophic injuries to civil rights violations.
Eric has lectured for the New York State Bar Association and has presented several continuing legal education courses for fellow attorneys.
In 1997, Eric assisted attorney Paul Callan in successfully representing the Estate of Nicole Brown Simpson in the civil case against O.J. Simpson.
When not representing his clients, Eric channels his energy through his Fender Stratocaster guitar and can often be found out on Wednesday nights playing rock and blues in Nyack, New York.
