Caitlyn’s work in the Asylum Clinic while in law school not only enabled her to hone her legal skills, but gave her an appreciation of how hard it is for clients to navigate the legal system. Now, she puts herself in her client’s shoes, remembering that they need her advocacy.
Caitlyn Gibbons is an associate in the firm’s Labor & Employment practice group.
Caitlyn has experience drafting employment and separation agreements, as well as protective agreements containing restrictive covenants. She is proficient in a wide range of employment laws and has vast experience researching issues on disability accommodations, wage and hour rules, and anti-harassment issues. Caitlyn has assisted in numerous settlement negotiations, resulting in successful outcomes for clients. In addition, she has obtained favorable results for clients by drafting position statements to the New York State Division of Human Rights and the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.
Prior to joining the firm, Caitlyn was employed as an associate attorney with a labor and employment firm in Garden City. She has also served as a judicial intern at the Nassau County Supreme Court, for the Honorable Diccia Pineda-Kirwan.
Caitlyn received her J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where she served as an articles editor on the Journal of International Business and Law. Additionally, Caitlyn received a Citation of Excellence for her work in Hofstra Law’s Political Asylum Clinical Program.
In her free time, Caitlyn enjoys music, traveling, and getting lost in a good book.
