Anthony finds it rewarding to help clients resolve legal disputes. His interests in reading, writing, and reasoning propelled him toward appellate practice. He particularly enjoys analyzing legal questions and arguing cases.
Anthony Hawkins is an associate in the firm’s Appeals and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups.
Prior to joining the firm, Anthony was a senior court attorney at the New York State Court of Appeals. In that role, Anthony wrote reports on civil motions for leave to appeal, assisting the Court in identifying novel legal questions and conflicts in existing precedent.
Anthony received his J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law. There, he served as a senior staff editor of the CUNY Law Review and vice president of the Moot Court Team. In addition, he was a summer associate at a boutique litigation law firm in New York City and a housing clinic intern at Jerome N. Frank Legal Services Organization.
Before law school, Anthony was a paralegal in the Homeownership & Consumer Rights Unit at Community Legal Services of Philadelphia, where he conducted intake interviews, prepared bankruptcy petitions, and assisted low-income homeowners with mortgage and tax assistance applications.
