Ullman Quoted in NutraIngredientsUSA

Marc Ullman was quoted in the NutraIngredientsUSA article, titled “DOJ prohibits Arizona company from distributing adulterated or misbranded supplements.”

Ullman discussed a federal court’s recent ban on Arizona based company, Global Vitality Inc. The company repeatedly violated the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act over the last decade, by selling “adulterated and misbranded dietary supplements.” In response to the FDA violation warnings, which began in 2012, the defendants repeatedly promised to rectify the issues but no action was ever taken.

Ullman stated, “It’s pathetically typical that this is what the FDA allows to go on. It’s inexcusable. This kind of regulatory and enforcement neglect harms the industry and creates a public health risk. FDA can have all the rhetoric it wants. The proof is in their allowing this company to operate in violation for years and years.”

He further notes, “It’s very difficult but not impossible for a company to come out of an injunction like this.”
