Ullman Comments on Phenibut Usage Research Result

The article explains how Dr. Pieter Cohen’s team did research on dietary supplements that contained phenibut in 2017, and found that not only did the companies continue using the ingredient in 2019 after being issued warning letters from the FDA, but they also increased the dosage.
Ullman stated, “When reading this research I have to say I’m utterly unsurprised. FDA is a law enforcement agency, but these warning letters have absolutely no deterrent effect. There are no consequences. The Agency has all the authority it needs. It just chooses not to exercise it.”
