Rivkin Radler is pleased to announce that Anne Murray has been named among Long Island’s Top 50 Women in Business by the Long Island Business News. Anne is a Partner of the Insurance Coverage Practice Group. Launched in 2000, the Top 50 program honors the Island’s premier professional women for their exceptional accomplishments, business acumen, mentoring and charitable and community involvement. The honorees represent the most influential women in business, government, education and not-for-profit fields.
Anne is an accomplished litigator. Her achievements include successfully representing a major insurer as lead counsel in a New Jersey coverage action seeking several hundred million dollars in insurance coverage and involving 14 hazardous waste sites across the country. Anne also served as counsel to the insurer throughout the successful jury trial and subsequent appeals in the ACC Chemical insurance coverage action, which sought over $100 million in insurance coverage. On behalf of her insurance clients, Anne has won summary judgment dismissing claims for defense and indemnity in a variety of matters, including cases of first impression in courts in New York and elsewhere.
Anne wrote the chapter on environmental and toxic tort insurance coverage issues for New Appleman Law of Liability Insurance, one of the country’s leading insurance law treatises.
A frequent speaker on insurance coverage issues, Anne has given seminars for the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and national and international insurance and reinsurance companies. Most recently, Anne presented a CLE program on Construction Site Accident Claims & Litigation before the New York State Bar Association in November 2018, and served as a member of a panel on emerging allocation issues at the ABA Insurance Section: Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee’s annual meeting in February 2017.
Anne is the Co-Chair of Rivkin Radler’s Women’s Initiative Committee, Leadership Initiative Committee and Attorney Development Committee. She has been active in the Firm’s pro bono program, assisting the Volunteer Lawyers Project of Nassau County in representing poor and underserved tenants in housing disputes.
