Andrew Berks, of New York, NY, has joined the Intellectual Property Group in the firm’s New York City office. Andrew is a seasoned patent attorney with a comprehensive approach to intellectual property law. With over 17 years of professional experience, he distinguishes himself through a client-centric practice that prioritizes personal relationships and a deep understanding of each client’s unique business objectives. He earned his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law.
Jonathan A. Emdin, of Buffalo, NY, has joined the firm’s Complex Torts & Product Liability and General Liability Practice Groups. He concentrates his practice in all aspects of civil defense litigation, including construction/labor law, premises liability, automotive liability, and products liability. Proficient in overseeing all phases of discovery and trial preparation, Jonathan has helped his clients obtain important discovery rulings, dismissals before trial, and favorable resolutions through strategic settlement negotiations and mediation. He earned his Juris Doctor from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
Harini Maragh, of New York, NY, has joined the Commercial Litigation and Trusts & Estates Practice Groups in the firm’s Uniondale office. Prior to joining the firm, Harini was an associate in an international law firm’s Product Liability and Mass Torts and Litigation Practice Groups. From 2023 to 2024, she worked as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. James M. Wicks in the Eastern District of New York. She earned her Juris Doctor from New York Law School.
Justin S. Penchuk, of Merrick, NY, has joined the General Liability Group in the firm’s Uniondale office. Prior to joining Rivkin Radler, Justin worked as an associate at a Long Island based firm where he litigated medical malpractice, general liability, and catastrophic construction site accident cases. He earned his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law.
Christine S. Varghese, of Harrison, NY, has joined the Construction Group in the firm’s New York City office. She represents developers, architects, engineers, construction managers, and contractors in both transactional and litigation matters. Prior to joining the firm, Christine obtained extensive experience prosecuting and defending a wide array of construction disputes, including delay claims, breach of contract, negligent design, and mechanic’s liens. She earned her Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law.
