On July 30, Rivkin Radler added partners Brian Gunther and Michael Prisco. The duo will enhance the depth of the firm’s thriving construction practice and spearhead the firm’s new surety practice group.

The construction practice group, which now consists of 17 attorneys, was recently recognized by Best Law Firms as a national practice. The new surety practice group will supplement and add further depth to the construction practice area and will deal with all matters involving surety bonds and related issues.

Brian, a Garden City, NY, resident, focuses his practice on surety litigation, fidelity law, construction litigation, and commercial crime insurance coverage. He represents sureties, contractors, and property owners in complex commercial construction disputes. He also advises fidelity insurers in coverage disputes pertaining to employee theft and cyber-related fraud.

“Joining Rivkin Radler and launching the surety practice group was a terrific opportunity,” Brian said. “The level of resources that the firm offers, and the diversity of practice area expertise will allow us to provide a new level of service to our clients.”

Michael, a Dix Hills, NY, resident, focuses his practice on all aspects of surety, construction, and appellate advocacy. He has successfully litigated some of the largest surety and construction disputes in the country and has managed program-wide defaults. He has also obtained large affirmative recoveries, including a recent judgment of more than $20 million.

“I am excited about joining the Rivkin Radler team and helping to build the new Surety Practice Group,” Michael said. “The wealth of knowledge, variety of practice groups, and incredible resources the firm offers will allow us to provide an unparalleled level of service to our clients.”

Rivkin Radler Managing Partner Evan Krinick said, “Brian and Michael have previous relationships with attorneys at Rivkin and have outstanding reputations in the legal community. Their surety practice adds a new dimension to our insurance coverage expertise and brings greater depth to our construction litigation team.”
