Paul Majkowski Co-Chair of ABA Seminar

May 13, 2013 | Appeals | Complex Torts & Product Liability

Paul Majkowski, a partner in the firm’s Litigation & Appeals and Product Liability & Toxic Tort Practice Groups, will co-chair the ABA’s Seventh Annual Chemical Products and Toxic Torts Seminar – From Lessons Learned To New.

This is the seventh year that this interactive, one day regional seminar has been conducted. As with prior seminars, this year’s seminar includes nationally known plaintiffs’ lawyers, members of the judiciary, in-house counsel, consultants and defense oriented trial lawyers who will discuss brand new developments and significant trends in toxic and mass torts involving chemicals and industrial products.

This year we will have four presentations, covering such hot-topics as hydraulic fracturing litigation and “any exposure/single fiber” theories of causation in asbestos litigation. A third panel will be comprised of in-house counsel who will present their
perspectives and insight on the current state of toxic tort/environmental and chemical products litigation.

Our final speaker is the Honorable Alvin K. Hellerstein, United States District Court Judge for the Southern District of New York, who will discuss his handling of and the lessons learned from the several mass tort litigations arising out of the tragic events of September 11.

Given the unique location of this program in Downtown Manhattan at St. John’s School of Risk Management, information will be provided for the 9/11 Memorial for those wishing to pay respects to the victims of September 11, 2001.
