Joseph La Ferlita, a partner at Rivkin Radler, has been named a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Council (ACTEC)—a prestigious honor reserved for the nation’s leading trust and estate professionals. T&E professionals must be nominated by an ACTEC Fellow (from any state or country) to be eligible for election.

ACTEC’s peer-elected Fellows are at the top of their profession, committed to maintaining excellence in the trust and estate legal field and to continually improving the practice. Joseph joins current Fellow and Rivkin Radler partner, Jennifer Hillman, and an elite group of thought leaders within the profession.

A Locust Valley, NY resident, Joseph is a partner in the firm’s Trusts & Estates and Tax Practice Groups, where he counsels individual planning clients, beneficiaries, individual and corporate fiduciaries, and not-for-profit entities, including public charities and private foundations, in connection with a multitude of estate- and trust-related matters in the Surrogate’s Court and the U.S. Tax Court.

“I am honored to become an ACTEC Fellow and look forward to working with my peers to advance our profession and better serve our clients,” Joseph said.

Joseph currently serves as vice president and member of the Executive Board of the Estate Planning Council of Long Island, co-chair of the Estate Planning Committee, and member of the Executive Committee of the Trusts and Estates Section of the New York State Bar Association.
