La Ferlita and Moneta Elected Co-Chairs of the NYSBA’s Estate Planning Committee

Rivkin Radler is pleased to announce that, partner Joseph La Ferlita and associate Nicholas Moneta, from the firm’s Personal, Family & Business Planning practice, have have been selected by the New York State Bar Association’s Trust & Estate Section as the Estate Planning Committee co-chairs.

The NYSBA’s Estate Planning Committee works on all matters pertaining to practice issues, new laws and best practices as well as any planning-related topics relevant to estate planning. Their term begins in January 2023.

Joe practices trusts and estates law, with an emphasis on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and tax controversy. He counsels individual planning clients, beneficiaries, individual and corporate fiduciaries and not-for-profit entities, including public charities and private foundations in connection with a multitude of estate- and trust-related matters in the Surrogate’s Court and the United States Tax Court.

Nicholas focuses his practice on trusts and estates law, specifically, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning and estate and trust administration. He regularly prepares wills, codicils, trust instruments and amendments, advance directives, gift and estate tax returns, and opinion letters.  Nicholas frequently facilitates, among other things, irrevocable trust decantings and sales to intentionally defective grantor trusts.
