Kang Honored with Award by Consulate General for Outstanding Service

On December 29, 2021, the Consulate General for the Republic of Korea presented Gene Kang with an award for outstanding service to the community.

The award was presented in recognition for, among other things, Gene’s efforts with helping to report and investigate anti-Asian hate crimes as part of the local Hate Crimes Task Force, coordinating pro bono legal services across the tri-state area, collaborating on various initiatives with community-based non-profits, and raising awareness regarding Asian-American issues.

The award was presented at a reception that was attended by local Korean American community leaders at Terrace on the Park. The reception was held to celebrate the start of the newly appointed Consulate General’s term and was attended by local Korean-American community leaders.
