Eric Fader was quoted in a January 1, 2019, Law360 story entitled “Health Care Policy Moves To Watch In 2019.” The article details the health policy developments that attorneys should continue to monitor in 2019.

Eric discusses how U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights (OCR), which oversees patient privacy safeguards under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, might require sharing of protected health information (PHI) among healthcare providers for the purpose of coordinating care, as opposed to simply permitting it. “It appears that they’re considering how to make sharing PHI for treatment … more mandatory than permissive, and I think this is a good move,” he said.
