5 Members of Rivkin Radler Receive Leadership in Law Awards

Rivkin Radler is proud to announce that five members of the law firm, Rivkin Radler LLP, received Leadership in Law awards from Long Island Business News. The awards recognize individuals who demonstrate dedication, hard work, skill, tenacity and excellence, along with leadership qualities in both the legal profession and in the community.

The awardees and their respective categories are as follows:

David E. Richman – Lifetime Achievement

Anne M. Murray – Partner

Paul Gorfinkel – Counsel

J’Naia L. Boyd – Associate

Frederick J. Esposito – Unsung Hero

David E. Richman is a partner in the firm’s Complex Torts & Product Liability, Critical Incident Response, and Medical Malpractice Defense practice groups. Richman concentrates his practice in the areas of medical malpractice defense, construction-site accidents, New York Labor Law litigation, pharmaceutical product liability, product liability defense and toxic torts. The head of Rivkin Radler’s Complex Tort & Product Liability and Medical Malpractice Defense Practice Groups, and a former member of the firm’s executive committee, Richman has tried hundreds of complex cases in both state and federal courts, many carrying million-dollar exposures for the clients he has represented. He received a JD degree from New York Law School and an MPA from New York University.

Anne M. Murray is a partner in Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Coverage practice group. She counsels insurance companies on complex first- and third-party claims, including general liability, construction defect, personal and advertising injury, toxic tort, asbestos, environmental, product liability, employee benefits liability, labor law, bad faith, and other emerging issues. Murray is the Co-Chair of Rivkin Radler’s Women’s Initiative Committee, Leadership Initiative Committee and Attorney Development Committee.  She has been active in the Firm’s pro bono program, assisting the Volunteer Lawyers Project of Nassau County in representing poor and underserved tenants in housing disputes. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the Waldorf School of Garden City, an independent, co-educational, college-preparatory day school for students ages 3 through 18. Murray received a JD from Suffolk University Law School and a BA from Boston College.

Paul Gorfinkel is senior counsel in the firm’s Insurance Coverage practice. He has extensive experience in environmental, toxic tort, mortgage impairment, intellectual property, additional insured, construction, and advertising injury coverage. Gorfinkel is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Congregation Anshei Chesed. Gorfinkel received a JD from New York University and a BA from Yeshiva University.

J’Naia L. Boyd is an associate in the firm’s Appeals, Bankruptcy, Business Dissolution, Commercial Litigation and Intellectual Property practices. Her practice includes representing clients in federal and state courts, and in ADR forums, in matters involving trademark and copyright infringement, complex commercial disputes, business torts, fraud, labor and employment law, violations of confidentiality agreements, restrictive covenant disputes, insurance disputes, and partnership and joint venture disputes. Active in the National Bar Association, Boyd serves on the Executive Board of the Women Lawyers Division and is the Co-Chair of the We Empower Mentoring Program. She also serves as a Young Lawyers Division Ambassador. The National Bar Association is the nation’s oldest bar association of African American attorneys, jurists and law students. Boyd was also appointed to the Committee on the Courts of Appellate Jurisdiction of the New York State Bar Association. She received a JD from the University of Maryland School of Law and a BBA from Howard University.

Frederick J. Esposito is the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. He is Yellow Belt Certified – Legal Lean Sigma® with 25-plus years of transforming business strategy. He received the Unsung Hero award for extraordinary leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic. He led the firm to significantly improve operations, enhancing the client and employee experience by improving processes, optimizing technology infrastructure and increasing operational efficiency. He is a frequent speaker and author on a wide range of topics, including financial/strategic management, strategic pricing, attorney compensation, Legal Lean Sigma®, design thinking and profitability models.
