In Memoriam: Andrew Berks
1957 – 2025
With great sadness, we inform you of the passing of Andrew Berks on Wednesday, February 26. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family.
Andy joined Rivkin Radler’s Intellectual Property Practice Group just a few months ago. A patent attorney, he worked in the firm’s New York City office. Andy worked on patent counseling, prosecuting patents, patent appeals, and patent enforcement actions, among other things. His practice was both national and international. He had a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Colorado in addition to his law degree from Fordham Law School.
In Andy’s brief time at the firm, he became not only a valued colleague for his exceptional abilities, but more importantly, a friend.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Andy’s wife, Deloria; his daughters, Jacqueline Berks Falco and Tania Berks; and grandchildren Asher, 2, Michael, 1, and Easton, born one month ago. We warmly invite you to join us in honoring and celebrating the life of my beloved husband, Andrew Berks, at a memorial service on Sunday, May 18th, at 3:00 PM.
We appreciate that many of you have already responded. For those who may have missed the earlier notice, we wanted to send this reminder: the service will be held at Plaza Jewish Community Chapel, located at 630 Amsterdam Avenue, New York, NY 10024 (at 91st Street and Amsterdam Avenue).
Following the service, we will gather at Edgar’s Café, located at 650 Amsterdam Avenue (between 91st and 92nd Streets). If you would like to stop by to say hello and spend a little time together, we would be grateful for your presence.
