Wayne’s training as a runner helps him plan for the lifespan of a case while looking to hit certain goals along the way. His commitment to planning, organization, and thorough preparation ensures that each client receives the highest level of representation with each deadline carefully met.
Wayne M. Cox is an associate in Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Coverage Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on complex first-party and third-party claims, including bad faith, contractual and common law indemnity, subrogation, intellectual property, personal and advertising injury, construction defect, environmental, product liability, complex tort, and other emerging coverage issues.
Prior to joining Rivkin Radler, Wayne represented contractors, real estate developers, and insurers in complex disputes. He has substantial experience in risk transfer and representation of clients across a variety of commercial and general litigation matters involving breach of contract, intellectual property, construction, real estate, and property damage claims.
Wayne has written extensively on a variety of legal topics and has been published in the Albany Law School Law Review, the University of Virginia School of Law’s Sports & Entertainment Law Journal, and the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law’s IDEA Law Review.
During law school, Wayne was chosen to participate as a law student reporter at the American Bar Association: Section of IP Law’s 30th Annual Conference. He was also named a Hofstra Law Public Service Award winner.

Cox Named to MENTOR New York Young Professionals Advisory Board

Wayne is a member of the Chaminade Alumni Lawyers’ Association and the MENTOR New York Young Professionals Advisory Board. He mentors young students through the VSB Mentor Program offered by Villanova University School of Business and the Student/Alumni Mentorship Program offered by the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University.
Since 2019, Legal 500 has recommended Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Coverage practice in the Insurance: Advice to Insurers category. Additionally, the group has been recognized in the Chambers USA directory since 2015.
