Paul has experience advising on a broad range of domestic and international tax matters, including tax-free reorganizations and spin-offs, taxable mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing, and real estate investments. His approach focuses on simplifying tax concepts and tax-efficient structures to assist clients in making informed business and investment decisions.
Paul Schwabe is an associate in the Tax and Trusts & Estates Practice Groups. He primarily focuses his practice on planning, structuring, compliance and controversies with respect to state and federal tax issues.
Paul advises clients on corporate, partnership, international, estate, gift and GST taxes, as well as the tax consequences resulting from transfers of real estate, charitable donations and business succession planning. He is currently pursuing an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University.
Prior to joining the firm, Paul had the privilege of serving as a law clerk for the Honorable Daniel A. Guy and the Honorable Thomas B. Wells of the U.S. Tax Court.
During law school, Paul served as an executive articles editor for the Brooklyn Journal of Corporate, Financial, and Commercial Law. He received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in both Partnership Taxation and Federal Tax Practice & Procedures. He also received the Martin R. Press Prize, which recognizes a graduating student for demonstrating excellence in tax law.
In his free time, you may find Paul skiing out West, restructuring his golf swing or learning a new tune on his keyboard.
