André’s experience as a prosecutor taught him the value of finding unique approaches to handle the issues his clients face. To that end, he is always seeking opportunities to learn and provide his clients with creative solutions.
Moise (André) is an associate in Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Fraud & Recovery Practice Group. He focuses his practice on insurance defense and no-fault insurance fraud matters.
Andre’s practice includes conducting in-depth investigations of medical providers—including physicians, pharmacies, and durable medical equipment suppliers—to evaluate the legitimacy of claims submitted to insurers.
He routinely conducts Examinations Under Oath (EUOs) of providers and other relevant parties to uncover fraudulent billing practices, improper referral arrangements, and other forms of insurance fraud.
In addition to his investigative work, Andre represents major insurance carriers in litigation and arbitration, where he defends against collection actions and advocates on behalf of insurers in disputed no-fault claims.
André previously served as an assistant district attorney at the King’s County District Attorney’s office for two years in the Trial Bureau. There, André handled a full caseload of misdemeanor and felony cases from their inception to sentencing, handling all intermediate stages including investigation, grand jury and hearings for a variety of criminal cases including attempted murders, shootings, gun possession, assaults and narcotic sales.
While a student at St. John’s School of Law, André was member of the PTAI Mock Trial Program, participating in several mock trial competitions and becoming regional champion of the Labor and Employment Mock Trial Competition in 2019 with his team, as well as individual awards, such as Best Direct in the PTAI 2L/3L Internal Competition and Best Cross Examination in the Judith S. Kaye Arbitration Competition in 2018. André also served as the executive director of External Affairs for the Dispute Resolution Society and both secretary and mock trial/moot court coordinator of the Black Law Students Association. Additionally, André clerked at a law firm in Mineola during his third year of law school where he focused on insurance defense and no-fault claims.
A Long Island native, André obtained his bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University. Outside of the firm, André can be found spending time with his family and friends, watching NBA basketball or writing fiction.
