Levi Stoep is an associate in Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Fraud Practice Group.

Levi handles all aspects of complex commercial litigation in courts around the country, including New York, New Jersey, and Florida. Levi prosecutes complex civil lawsuits under the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, including affirmative actions to recover insurer claim payments to physicians, medical clinics, medical suppliers, and others involved in complex, large-scale insurance fraud schemes. He represents insurance companies across the country in the development and implementation of fraud detection and prevention strategies.

Earlier in his career, Levi served as an Assistant District Attorney at the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office. As a member of both the Trial Division and then the Appeals Bureau, he was responsible for handling a wide variety of felony cases, including attempted murder, shootings, robbery, burglary, weapons possession, and possession and sale of controlled substances. Levi handled all aspects of prosecution, including criminal investigations, Grand Jury presentations, and evidentiary hearings. Throughout his time as a prosecutor, he also completed trials to verdict, and briefed and argued appeals in the Appellate Division’s First Department.

While in law school, Levi interned for the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Prior to law school, Levi worked as a congressional staffer on the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Calvin University, where he double majored in International Relations and Political Science.
