Jennifer Abreu is a Partner in Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Fraud Practice Group. Jennifer helps insurers prosecute civil lawsuits under the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, including affirmative actions to recover insurer claim payments to physicians, medical clinics, attorneys, public adjusters and others involved in complex, large-scale insurance fraud schemes.

Prior to joining Rivkin Radler, Jennifer served as an Assistant District Attorney for six and half years at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. As an Assistant District Attorney in the Trial Division, Jennifer successfully prosecuted a wide variety of felony cases, including, murder, attempted murder, assault, robbery, gun possession and larceny-related offenses. She handled the prosecution of these cases from arrest to sentencing, including investigations, grand jury presentations, discovery and motion practice, and hearing and trial. Jennifer developed strong litigation skills and gained exceptional courtroom experience as lead counsel in over fifteen trials and twenty judicial hearings. She supervised misdemeanor and felony assistants in the Early Case Assessment Bureau and provided legal counsel to other law enforcement agencies. Jennifer was a member of the Summer Fellowship Hiring Board.

Jennifer has been recognized in Ones to Watch by Best Lawyers in America® for 2023 and 2024. Ones to Watch is a recognition given to attorneys who are earlier in their careers for outstanding professional excellence in private practice.

While at Hofstra Law School, Jennifer was the Vice President of the Latino American Law Students Association. She was the recipient of the Latino Law Students’ Association Endowed Alumni Scholarship and the 2011 Puerto Rican Bar Association Scholarship. Jennifer also served as a staff member of the Hofstra Labor & Employment Law Journal.
