Jeffrey P. Rust is a partner in the firm’s Health Services and Corporate Practice Groups. He is a health care and corporate attorney, guiding the Firm’s clients through transactional and regulatory matters while creating an atmosphere of collaboration and trust.
Jeff advises businesses and health care clients in joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, financings, governance issues, employment matters, shareholder and partnership agreements, contract drafting and negotiations, dispute settlements, and the formation and operation of for-profit and not-for-profit entities.
He represents hospitals, health systems, and multi- and single-specialty medical practices in transactional and employment matters. Jeff’s experience extends to providing counsel regarding compliance with federal and state fraud and abuse laws, reimbursement disputes, HIPAA compliance, self-referral and Stark issues, and a variety of complex legal, business, and transactional matters.
While attending The University of Akron School of Law, Jeff served as the editor-in-chief of the Akron Law Review.

In 2007, Jeff was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Long Island Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. He has served as chairman of the board for the Long Island chapter since 2012 and has been selected to serve as one of two delegates to the Arthritis Foundation’s Northeast Regional Board.
Jeff was selected by his peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America®from 2013 to 2026 in the field of Health Care Law. He was also named to Super Lawyers Metro New York list in Health Care from 2021 to 2025.
He has an AV Preeminent Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating. Since 2016, the Health Services Practice Group has been recognized in the Chambers USA directory.
