Frank Raia concentrates his practice in all aspects of civil defense litigation, including Child Victims Act litigation, construction/labor law, premises liability, products liability, property damage and automotive liability. For the past three years, Frank’s focus has been primarily the representation of major religious institutions in the defense of Child Victims Act matters.
With more than 35 years in practice and a three-year tenure as counsel to AIG Insurance Company, Frank has taken hundreds of cases to trial, has tried more than 50 cases to verdict, and has successfully moved to dismiss over 100 lawsuits.
Frank’s practice includes the representation of major religious institutions, orders, churches, parishes, and major sports and entertainment complexes and venues, including some of the largest in New York City. Frank also represents one of the largest sports and entertainment presenters in the world, as well as commercial building owners and operators, nationally prominent educational institutions, professional sports teams, camps, municipalities, and bus companies.
He has defended clients in complex tort litigation in each of New York City’s five counties, as well as in Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Putnam, Columbia, Ulster, and Sullivan Counties. He also appears regularly before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Frank is a co-contributor to the recently published USLAW Network State of New York Construction Law Compendium, which addresses all aspects of the defense of labor law claims in New York.
Frank has served as a member of Rivkin Radler’s Management Committee.
