Douglas E. Menikheim is a Counsel in the Health Services Practice Group. Doug focuses his practice on representing and advising health care clients in connection with a variety of corporate transactions, including entity formation, private equity investments (including platform acquisitions, add-on transactions and exits), mergers and acquisition, divestitures, joint ventures, private placements and other strategic transactions. In addition, he advises clients with respect to day-to-day corporate governance matters and commercial contracts.

Doug’s health care transactions have included representing private equity funds investing in management service organizations (MSOs) and dental service organizations (DSOs), including the roll-up of physician practices, university medical centers with physician practice acquisitions, acquisitions of assisted living facilities and licensed home care service agencies and physician practices. He also works with regulatory counsel to advise clients on regulatory compliant acquisition structures in corporate practice and non-corporate practice of medicine jurisdictions, regulatory issues under fraud and abuse laws (including the federal Anti-Kickback statute and related safe harbors), Stark, the federal False Claims Act, HIPAA and other applicable laws and regulations.

Doug was named a Long Island Business News “40 Under 40” Honoree in 2020 and he was named a Super Lawyers New York Metro Rising Star from 2015 – 2019.

Since 2016, the Health Services Practice Group has been recognized in the Chambers USA directory and has been listed in The Legal 500.
