Dion K. Bass, a partner in Rivkin Radler’s Jacksonville office, focuses his practice on insurance defense, medical and professional liability defense, trucking litigation, employment disputes, and product liability defense.
Dion defends and prosecutes cases involving issues of statutory interpretation and compliance, contractual disputes, property damage and personal injury claims, complex litigation, and attacks on his clients’ business practices. In doing so, Dion has successfully handled hundreds of matters, in state and federal courts, securing positive verdicts and dismissals on behalf of his clients. He has also litigated matters related to municipality defense, premises and general liability, and employment and labor law.
Having earned his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, Dion was an inaugural recipient of the Dean’s Leadership Award. He served as president of the UF Law Trial Team and was the community service chair for the W. George Allen Chapter of the Black Law Student’s Association. He also served as a teaching assistant, student ambassador, and recruitment team member. Dion was also one of two student advisors to the College of Law’s Faculty Appointment Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice with a minor in political science from Troy University.
Before practicing law, Dion served in the United States Air Force as an aerospace maintenance apprentice. Following his time in uniform, he served military members and their families as a youth development and family services specialist with the Department of the Air Force. During that time, he spent three and a half years in Japan.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, playing sports, and going to the beach.
