With over a decade in government service, Danielle brings a unique perspective as an experienced trial and investigative attorney who has practiced in both state and federal courts.
Danielle Drasser is counsel in Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Fraud & Recovery Practice Group.
Prior to joining Rivkin Radler, Danielle served as an assistant district attorney in the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor for the City of New York. As a member of the Special Investigations Bureau, Danielle investigated and prosecuted large-scale domestic and international narcotics trafficking and money-laundering organizations. Danielle was also the deputy chief of the Alternatives to Incarceration Unit, where she oversaw and managed criminal defendant participation in treatment programs aimed at holistic rehabilitation.
During her time in government service, Danielle gained practical experience and obtained favorable results.
Danielle began her career as a prosecutor at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office where she managed a varied caseload that included illegal weapons possession and other violent felonies. From there, she worked as an assistant corporation counsel in the Special Federal Litigation Division at the New York City Law Department. There, Danielle defended the City of New York, government officials, and city employees in civil rights lawsuits brought in federal court under 42 U.S.C. § 1983. Following her time at the Law Department, Danielle served as a court law clerk in the Eastern District of New York, where she was part of a program aimed at reducing case backlogs across the district, specifically habeas corpus proceedings brought under 28 U.S.C. §§ 2254 and 2255.
Danielle graduated from Binghamton University and St. John’s University School of Law. While in law school, Danielle was associate managing editor of the New York Real Property Law Journal and externals director of the Polestino Trial Advocacy Institute. She was also an accomplished mock trial advocate and received a Best Prosecution Advocate Award.
Danielle is an avid hiker and aspiring Adirondack 46’er. She also shares her passion for trial advocacy with future generations by volunteering as a coach and competition evaluator for the mock trial programs at her high school, college, and law school.
