Dan’s practice intersects legal strategy, risk management, and real-world problem-solving. He enjoys the challenge of navigating diverse issues – from general liability to complex torts and medical malpractice cases. Dan helps clients proactively manage risk while defending their interests when claims arise.
Daniel E. Furshpan concentrates his practice in the areas of medical malpractice defense, construction-site accidents, New York Labor Law litigation, and general liability defense. He also has significant experience defending employment discrimination claims in federal court.
A member of the firm’s General Liability and Medical Malpractice Defense groups, Dan handles cases from inception through trial in all courts throughout New York City on behalf of property owners, universities, construction management companies, construction contractors, convenience store chains, hospitals, physicians, adult care facilities, and others.

In 2022, Dan was appointed vice chair of the American Bar Association’s TIPS Employment and Labor Law General Committee and served from 2022 to 2023. He is active in bar associations and legal organizations including the Defense Research Institute, where he frequently authors articles on litigation topics.
