Ashley, a dedicated health care attorney, enjoys helping clients navigate complex regulations with clarity and confidence. She is passionate about translating legal requirements into workable solutions that support innovation and care so that clients can focus on their mission and not on the red tape.
Ashley Algazi is a partner in the Health Services Practice Group. She represents various health care providers, including hospitals, long term care providers, physician practices, dental practices, ambulatory surgery centers, and other health care entities with transactional, regulatory, and compliance matters.
Ashley has counseled clients on topics ranging from fraud and abuse; managed care contracting; state licensing; Stark and Anti-Kickback laws; transactional agreements; vendor agreements; Medicare and Medicaid; reporting obligations; insurance audits; corporate practice of medicine; compliance programs and the Office of Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) compliance audits; credentialing; billing and claims issues; Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA); health care decision making; release of medical records; and many other topics.
Ashley is also a member of the Privacy, Data & Cyber Law group, where she regularly counsels health care clients in matters involving emerging technologies, privacy and security, technology service agreements and business associate agreements, and the sharing of protected health information. Ashley also represents health care clients in conducting compliance investigations regarding potential breaches and advises clients regarding reporting requirements to the Office of Civil Rights and other applicable government agencies.
While attending Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, Ashley contributed to projects with the Gitenstein Institute of Health Law and Policy and the Bioethics Center. She also received a concentration in Health Law.
