Anne M. Murray counsels insurance companies on complex first- and third-party claims, including general liability, construction defect, personal and advertising injury, toxic tort, asbestos, environmental, product liability, employee benefits liability, labor law, bad faith, and other emerging issues.
Anne wrote the chapter on environmental and toxic tort insurance coverage issues for New Appleman Law of Liability Insurance, one of the country’s leading insurance law treatises.
A frequent speaker on insurance coverage issues, Anne has given seminars for the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and national and international insurance and reinsurance companies. In 2018, Anne presented a CLE program on construction site accident claims and litigation before the New York State Bar Association. In 2017, she served as a member of a panel on emerging allocation issues at the ABA Insurance Section: Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee’s annual meeting.
Anne currently serves as co-chair of Rivkin Radler’s Women’s Initiative Committee, Leadership Initiative Committee, and Attorney Development Committee.

Anne has been active in the firm’s pro bono program, assisting the Volunteer Lawyers Project of Nassau County in representing poor and underserved tenants in housing disputes.
In 2019, Anne was named one of Long Island Business News’ Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business.
In 2005, Anne was named one of Long Island Business News’ 40 Rising Stars Under 40.
Since 2019, Legal 500 has recommended Rivkin Radler’s Insurance Coverage practice in the Insurance: Advice to Insurers category. The Insurance Coverage Practice Group since 2016 has been included in the Chambers USA directory in the Insurance: Dispute Resolution: Insurer category, and in Best Law Firms Metropolitan New York Tier 1 for Insurance Law since 2019. She has been named to Best Lawyers in America® for Litigation-Insurance from 2022 to 2026 and Insurance Law for the year 2026.
Anne is an accomplished litigator. Her achievements include successfully representing a major insurer as lead counsel in a New Jersey action seeking several hundred million dollars in insurance coverage and involving 14 hazardous waste sites across the country. Anne also served as counsel to the insurer throughout the successful jury trial and subsequent appeals in the ACC Chemical insurance coverage action, which sought over $100 million in coverage. On behalf of her insurance clients, she has won summary judgment dismissing claims for defense and indemnity in a variety of matters, including cases of first impression in courts in New York and elsewhere.
