DeHaven Secures Superstorm Sandy Settlement

June 7, 2018 | General Liability

In Bowne v Shapiro, George DeHaven secured a great settlement for our client.  This breach of contract litigation involved our client’s work for the Town of North Hempstead following Superstorm Sandy. The plaintiff was an engineering firm hired as our client’s subcontractor. The plaintiff claimed that that it was not paid for certain work it performed, seeking $150,000 and three-plus years of interest. Our client claimed that some of the work was performed by others and that the work was otherwise unauthorized. Just prior to jury selection, the case was settled for $20,000.
