Another Evening with the Surrogates

On April 19, 2016, the Nassau County Bar Association Surrogate’s Court Trusts & Estates Committee will be presenting “Another Evening with the Surrogates” at the Nassau County Bar Association. Dennis Wiley, Esq., a member of Rivkin Radler’s Trusts, Estates and Taxation Group and vice co-chair of the Committee, helped organize the CLE program which will feature eight current New York State Surrogates who will provide tips from the bench on the practice of law in Surrogate’s Court.

In preparation for this event, Mr. Wiley and his co-chairs assembled a panel consisting of the Surrogates from the counties of New York, Richmond, Queens, Bronx, Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester to participate in an hour long meet and greet cocktail reception, followed by a round-table discussion of questions covering procedural and substantive processes involved in Surrogate’s Court practice.  A rarity for eight current Surrogates to be in the same room for such a candid discussion, this evening promises to offer the Trusts and Estates practitioner a unique opportunity to interact with colleagues in an informal setting, and to gain a better understanding of the ins and outs of practice before their respective Courts.
