Sean McAloon advises insurance companies in the investigation and litigation of claims arising under homeowner and commercial insurance policies.
Experienced in first-party property coverage, Sean has assisted clients in claims involving arson, fraud, mysterious disappearance of jewelry, theft, employee dishonesty, property damage and business interruption. Sean has helped clients obtain early dismissal in many litigated disputes.
He has successfully defended clients in bad faith litigation and also has helped insurers fight no-fault fraud.
Sean is a vice chair of the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section – Property Insurance Law Committee of the American Bar Association. He also is a co-chair of the ABA’s 2015 Property Insurance Law Committee Annual Meeting. Sean contributed to the 2014 and 2015 ABA TIPS Annual Update for the Property Insurance Law Section. His article discussing the implications of Executive v. Peerless, a recent New York Court of Appeals decision, was published in the Property Insurance Law newsletter.
The Insurance Coverage Practice Group since 2016 has been included in the Chambers USA directory in the Insurance: Dispute Resolution: Insurer category. In addition, the group is included in the 2016 Best’s Directory of Recommended Insurance Attorneys.
New York Super Lawyers magazine named Sean as a Rising Star in Insurance Coverage in the Metropolitan New York area for 2016 and 2017. Only 2.5% of the lawyers in New York are named to the Rising Stars list.
Very passionate about music, Sean plays the guitar and produced music for local artists in college and law school.
