Matthew A. WindmanAssociate
Matthew Windman is an Associate in Rivkin Radler’s General Liability Practice Group, where he defends cases involving insurance coverage issues, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, construction accidents, wrongful death actions, and professional liability.
Prior to joining the Firm, Matthew gained significant litigation experience as an associate with two mid-sized New York law firms, where he specialized in the defense of municipal entities, managed complex tort and general negligence cases, and effectively resolved matters through successful motion practice and settlement.
While at New York Law School, Matthew was a senior editor of the Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Association. He was a top-four finalist in the Annual Charles W. Froessel Moot Court Competition. Matthew also worked as a teaching assistant for Professor Arthur Leonard and was a member of the Urban Law Clinic, where he represented special needs children and victims of employment discrimination. Immediately following graduation, Matthew was awarded a fellowship with the Center for New York City Law, where he studied and wrote about New York City’s land use agencies, and clerked for the Hon. Gerald Lebovits.
Matthew has a lifelong interest in theater and has lectured about contemporary issues in theater and entertainment law. He has also written extensively as a theater critic and arts journalist. He is the author of The Critics Say: 57 Theater Critics in New York and Beyond Discuss Their Craft and Its Future, published by McFarland in 2016.
